Waste Electrical Equipment (WEEE) Regulations

Recycling Batteries

It is important that all batteries are disposed of in a safe way to minimise their impact on our environment. Recycle Now provide information on how you can dispose of your batteries safely and locally. Visit Recycle Now to find out more.

Alternatively, many supermarkets and shops that sell batteries have collection bins for used batteries. Your local council may even collect batteries as part of their recycling services and most council recycling facilities will cater for battery recycling also.

Recycle Your Old Vibrators and Other Electronic Sex Toys

Unrecycled electrical equipment in landfills can leak hazardous substances, causing soil and water contamination which, in turn, harms wildlife and human health. Newer electrical equipment is marked with a crossed-out wheeled bin symbol to indicate it should not be thrown away in the bin.

Please do not throw any electrical equipment in your bin, even those not marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. Instead, you can take your electrical items to a local facility. For more information on WEEE recycling and to find your local recycling centre, visit Recycle Now.

Top Tips for Recycling

Remember that glass, wood and stainless steel toys can often be easily recycled using your local council kerbside recycling bins and collections.

The Gaia range enables the consumers to dispose of their toy by taking it to their local industrial composting facility, where it will biodegrade. Not every consumer will recycle their toy in this way, but the good news is that even those toys that end up in landfill will break down over time.

Sustainability at Passionbugs

In our own offices we ensure recycling is freely available for our consumables including ink and toner cartridges. We only use recycled paper and wherever possible we store documentation electronically to reduce the amount of consumables we use. Meetings are conducted via the internet to avoid the need for travel.
