What Is a Large Butt Plug?

If you haven’t guessed already, a large butt plug is just a butt plug that is larger in size to the average butt plugs used by many. Here at passionbugs we class a large butt plug as any anal plug that is 4.5 inches, or more, in circumference. (Circumference being the width around the widest point of the plug).

How To Use Large Butt Plugs

It’s important that larger anal toys are only attempted by those with some experience of penetrative anal play. Large butt plugs are a step up from smaller, slimmer plugs or dildos. Inserting a Large Butt Plug:

1. Relax. It is paramount that you are relaxed. A relaxed mind and body makes for a relaxed anus. Stress or anxiety will cause tension. And tension in the muscles means they will resist the plug making insertion more difficult and play less comfortable.
2. Grab a bottle of lube. Unlike the vagina, the butt does not self-lubricant so lube isn’t an optional extra. Anal lube is a must. Anal lubes are thicker in consistency to other sex lubes enabling this type of lube to better protect the delicate anal muscles. Apply lube to the outside of the rectum, the inside and to the large butt plug.
3. Warm up  – Rushing into anal play without foreplay is a big no no. At best, your body is going to be less aroused and at worst you could injure yourself. So take time to warm up, get turned on and be fully aroused. It’s hardly a hardship so enjoy yourself as you prepare for the main event.
4. Insert. Place the tapered end of the plug at the opening of the anus and push gently. Go slowly. Give the body time to become accustom to the plug. Any large sex toy is safe to use if it is used with a few safety checks in mind:

• The butt does not self-lubricate, so plenty of anal lube will be required.
• Numbing creams and gels are not recommended. They take away the body’s natural pain responses meaning you could injure yourself unknowingly.  
• Remember that the body has limits. Sometimes it won’t be physically possible for a body to accommodate the larger toys. Listen to your body and if you feel sharp pain, stop play immediately.
